Support / Re: Recording Maintenance in Version iOS 10.1
« on: July 31, 2017, 01:30:17 PM »
Hi - sorry, I felt bad about removing the "verbiage" and replacing it with an unassuming icon, but it keeps the UI cleaner that way.

Navigate to the "Cleaning" maintenance schedule from the roaster details screen. Tap the left button in the bottom toolbar. That creates a new maintenance "Log" ticket. For Behmor cleaning, that's all you really need to do. But, for more in-depth maintenance you could record cost, notes, hours spent, etc.

Once you save that new ticket, the counter will reset. If it were a time-based schedule, you'd be able to reset the start date as well.

No - both app and in-app purchases are bound to your iTunes ID - not particular devices, so they carry over.

I use the Pro 12.9 - Roastmaster shines on the larger screen - full support.

Make sure your old iPad is being backed up by iCloud, and that Roastmaster is selected in Settings > iCloud (both are true by default). If so, then just choose to Set Up or Restore from iCloud Backup when you set up your new Pro. When done, your database will be in place on your new device.

Every once in a while, a restore will go wonky, so I also advise to export you current database and save to iCloud drive in case something goes wrong - just as a precaution. On the home screen, open the drum door and tap Utilities > Export Current Database. Save it to iCloud. If you ever need to restore it, just tap "Import to Roastmaster" from the backup file in the iCloud drive app - Roastmaster will import it, then just "activate" it from the database details screen to use it.

Support / Re: ThermaQ Blue not linking

I just finished testing with the legacy Duo this morning, and flipped the update live about a minute ago.

It may take a few hours to propagate to all the different iTunes mirrors, but it's live now.

Support / Re: Switching Platforms

Sorry - Roastmaster only exists for iOS at the moment. I do plan on exploring other platforms, but for now it's either iPad or iPhone.

The current version of Roastmaster on the App Store does not yet support the ThermaQ Blue. The update I've just finished, though, does. I am hoping to finalize testing today, and have it submitted to Apple tomorrow.

If you'd like to participate in a beta in the mean time (approval can take up to a week), email me and I can arrange a manual beta download for you to test in the mean time.

Support / Re: Adding another probe
« on: June 29, 2017, 03:37:57 PM »
Hi Bill

Roastmaster addresses Temp Sensors by the serial numbers of the temp sensors themselves (not the SBC) - so you can use multiple Temp Sensors on the same SBC.

So, first you'd tether the 4-port with the new probe to the SBC via the USB cable, and create the second probe definition in Roastmaster with the new 4-port serial number/port.

The, you could either leave the 1-port with its probe in place (having 2 temps sensors on the SBC - each with its unique serial number), or disconnect it and hook the old probe to the 4-port, and update the old probe definition with the new serial number.

I'd probably opt for both probes on the 4 Port - it's a little less processing power/bandwidth, but either way would work.

In part 6 of our Roasting with Roastmaster series, we build on the concept of profile targeting that we covered in part 2, and show how to easily find and target data from past roasts in the roast console and analyzer. We also look at the function of the console criteria buttons and how they, along with cupping scores, help us hone in on general or specific past data to target.

Glad you're enjoying them!

I plan to hit other topics as time goes on, but roasting was naturally the most pressing. These have been long overdue! :)

News, Tips and Tricks / Blends and Snapshots Screencast
« on: May 01, 2017, 03:27:53 PM »
In this screencast we discuss how to create blends in Roastmaster, and the features and functions related to them. Then, we show how to implement a more advanced workflow using blend snapshots to record and track blend changes based on experimentation or variations in crop, cost and supply.

In part 5 of our Roasting with Roastmaster series, we show how to use differential temperature projections in an automatic data logging environment to provide accurate predictions of where our curve temperatures are headed in a future point in our roasts.

103
In part 4 of our Roasting with Roastmaster series, we learn how to create event markers affixed to roast curves or a roast timeline. We also discuss how to configure a profile’s curve templates with auto-trigger events that will fire at certain temperature criteria during a roast, providing an alternative event-driven profile workflow, and more metric data.

In part 3 of our Roasting with Roastmaster series, we look at how to set up Roastmaster’s Automatic Data Logging option, configure roast curves to automatically log probe data, and watch a data logging roast with a glimpse of auto-trigger events.

In part 2 of this series, we turn a roast into a roast profile, and learn how to target the profile’s reference curves with the analyzer’s targeting feature. We also show how to speed your workflow with curve templates that create data logging curves in roasts that use our new profile.
