Title: Is it true/correct/unfortunate that Roastmaster is not PC friendly
Post by: SJM on August 23, 2014, 06:22:26 PM
I would like to use this software, but am addicted to PCs and have no MACs.
I see in some documentation comments like "to your MAC or PC", so I thought perhaps I could use this, but I'm beginning to think not.

I'd appreciate having this clarified so I can move on if this is the wrong app for me.

Thanks

Hi. Sorry, no - Roastmaster itself is currently only available for iOS.

That documentation is probably the Phidgets description showing how to connect thermocouples to a PC in order to provide them with ethernet connectivity for Roastmaster. That's a cheaper option to purchasing the Phidgets board that will supply Ethernet natively. Roastmaster itself, though, only runs on iOS.

Thanks, Danny, even if it isn't what I wanted to hear.

And, yes, you're right, it was related to the Phidget which I have that I came across that reference and it gave me a bit of false hope :-(((

I just may have to capitulate to an iPad to use for this one application.
It's either that or Artisan, but Artisan doesn't "do" inventory (at least I don't think so).

In any case, thanks for the reply.
