Support / Re: Curve loses its temp probe between roasts

Seems like many users want the ET/BT probes connected after COPYING a previous roast.

Danny gave a wonderful answer here --- Solved the problem :-)

Sounds like you're missing the binding field in the corresponding curve template of the profile you're using. Have a look at the profile the roast is using to make sure all curve templates have their binding set.

For a number of reasons, the copy function for roasts gives precedence to a profile-based workflow - it does not actually look at the data curves of the source roast. So, when you copy a roast, the copy grabs the profile from the source roast, and populates its Data Curves from the templates it finds there. One of those is probably missing its binding - or, it has outdated binding information.

When I copy a previous roast I have to re-add the ET/BT "Bind To" probes.

Is there a way to keep the probes connected from a previous roast?

Today im roasting 25.5 KG in 1.5 KG batches which is 17 roasts.
Not a huge problem but it would be nice to copy a roast with the ET/BT probes connected from the previous roast.

Thanks - Very informative. I will refrain from updating any further on the Ipad until you well into release phase.

I would be happy to be a beta tester. One of the lucky 100 allowed devices per app. It is investing in my roasting process.

What about exporting roasting profiles to a "Community" website. Build a Wordpress or Joomla Directory of coffee roasting profiles with social network features (user profiles, rating, points, user messaging, etc.) that had each country, farm, etc. related to a bean. Users of Roastmaster would be able to look up a profile in a directory. You could allow upvoting or rating with stars or whatever javascript thingy you wanted to adopt. You could do something with Wordpress or Joomla to keep things simple. The only part that would need a little special effort would be the UI and integration code for some cloud and inserting the Roastmaster data into a MySQL database.

I am really enjoying Roastmaster. I especially like being able to manage the roasting process using an Ipad with Phidgets.

The big thing missing is the ability to select community rated bean profiles inside of RoastMaster app. To keep things simple the profiles could be mostly about the bean ++ elevation of bean, region / country, arabica/robusta/hybrid, washed/natural, etc +drop temp + 1st crack (2nd crack) temp and end drop time.. I think being able to capture the community discussion around a profile will drive more users to roastmaster app and grow the community. As a roaster I often get new beans and need to develop a profile. I would love to see community shared Roasting Profiles inside of the Roastmaster app. A expanded more feature rich coffee profile directory could be based on Wordpress or Joomla (many awesome directory solutions).

Let me know if you would like help with the planning document.

Im very excited for the future of the Roastmaster brand.

Hello -

Im just beginning to invest my setup with 3 roasters to Roastmaster app.

If I use the new Ipad 9,7 - 2017 or the latest iPad PRO and they are updated to IOS 11 will the Roastmaster APP work?
Will there be 2 different ports of this app? 1 for older Ipads and 1 for IOS 11 / 64bit versions?

Thanks!!!
