Support / How do I turn off Inventory Warning?
« on: May 02, 2021, 02:37:53 PM »
Is inventory warning something I can turn off. I’m seeing a number in a little red circle beside “Beans” in the main menu. I think I remember turning this on a long time ago but now I don’t want it. I’ve looked in the settings section and can’t find anywhere to turn it off. Should I be able to do this somewhere? Thanks!

Support / Unable to Export to Onedrive
« on: January 12, 2021, 09:28:08 PM »
Hi Danny!

Could you give me any tips exporting my DB to Onedrive? When I try it says Uploading... on the bottom of the window and my DB name and Waiting... at the top of the same window. It never completes. I don't know how it should behave if there is already a file of the same name at the destination but there is none.

I've been using Google Drive with no problems but Onedrive would be more convenient.

I'm accessing OneDrive from the latest version of Windows 10. RoastMaster is running on an iPad Pro running iPadOS 14.3

Thanks! I hope you are staying safe and doing well!

Wish List / Ability to change background color of graph
« on: May 25, 2014, 08:31:17 PM »
Hi Danny,

Although I find the graph in the roast analyzer very readable indoors, when I am outdoors where I roast I find it very difficult to read, especially the target roast, even though I have the opacity for same turned all the way up. Knowing you, I'm sure you did a lot of trial and error to come up with the background color that you did. However, I wonder if a light background might not work better for me in high ambient light areas.  I guess I could try making that curve a very light color too.

Support / Working with the database

Hi Danny,

I exported my database to dropbox and am exploring it on my PC using a DBM called SQLstudio. I've also done a brief test executing a basic query with Python which was pretty straightforward.

I couldn't seem to quite figure out the timestamp data type you use for date/time data. Is this a unix epoch time? I tried using the date time function with the unixepoch switch and this got me closer then other things I tried but this year becomes 1980 something and the time is off as well.

I'm also finding the number of tables that I need to link to, even to print out a list of beans in my inventory, a bit daunting. If you have any tips for handling this I would appreciate it. I'm sure you must have a bunch of views defined to handle the associations.

Thanks Danny

Support / Making changes to a roast after completion
« on: February 22, 2014, 10:38:43 PM »
Hi Danny,

I wondered, I often make stupid mistakes in recording a roast, especially toward the end when things are happening quickly and I'm still trying to record temperatures as well as power and fan settings. For example, today I accidentally recorded the beginning of second crack when I meant to record the end of first.

And one other thing. Would it be OK if I exported the DB file and created reports from it in Windows? I code a bit in Python these days though I'm mostly rusty from not doing it enough. I think creating a report from the RoastMaster DB would be a fun way to practice my programming skills. Of course, if you don't want people doing that I understand.

And there's one more thing : ) Thanks for the new profile tutorial. It's very useful and very well done!

Support / Profile vs Program
« on: January 13, 2014, 09:33:11 PM »
I've been using RoastMaster since mid 2013 and am really loving it. Unfortunately I've never really taken the time to learn to use it in a way that I can utilize all of its functionality. My roaster has been a homemade roaster until last week when I purchased a Hottop KN-8828B-2K. Having a roaster with si much more control over the roast has galvanized me to learn RoastMaster better.

I think I'm going to have a lot of questions, stupid ones judging from what I've been able to find on these pages in the way of answers. What I want to know first is, what is the difference between a Program and a Profile. I've searched everywhere examined both in RoastMaster and fail to find a difference.
