So I've searched the forums and found this problem referenced by other users, but unfortunately, I could not troubleshoot the unlinked probe from my setup.

Currently, I'm trying to link SBC3 to my iPhone 5, and although from the Phidgets control panel, it says that I'm running, my iPhone will not register the probe so I can't start the roast. Gah, I'm so excited and anxious to get this thing finally rolling, but it seems once again, I've stumbled upon another hurdle...

Also, is there a way to delete a Probe profile? I accidentally entered the wrong serial number for one of 'em, but both are named BT. I couldn't find a way to EDIT the established profiles, nor delete... so I have two folders named BT, and I can't tell which is which because it won't let me access the details... is the newer one up top?

Once again, thanks for helping me out!

PS: I've also tried restarting the laptop, and it didn't do the trick. Also tried closing and reopening Roastmaster app, and that didn't work either.

I've also tried inputting different serial numbers.

I'm assuming I need to enter the serial number for the Phidget, not the serial for the respective TPK probes... anyway, I tried both with Port 0 and neither worked.

Hi

Phidgets are picky about client-host connections - the Webservice software running on either the SBC or laptop host must exactly match the version in Roastmaster. I just release Roastmaster v 4.1 around 10:00 PM US-EST last night with the latest Phidgets software. I'm going to update the website this morning - I ran out of time last night - sorry.

First, make sure you're using version 4.1 of Roastmaster released last night.

Then, just update your host with the latest Phidgets software.
  • For the SBC, just launch the SBC Administration Console by double-clicking the SBC in either the preference pane (mac) or control panel (windows). Then navigate to the "System" main tab, then the "Packages" sub tab and click update all.
  • For a laptop host, download the latest build from Phidgets (currently 20130618) and install on your laptop

Let me know if you have any problems

Cheers
Danny

Oh - to delete a probe, just swipe across it in the list view - then tap the red button that appears.

You can edit a probe details by tapping the probe in the list, then tapping the "Edit" button in the upper right of the details screen. Then, just tap the name field to rename it.

Sorry for the delay - I was traveling - just made it back into the office yesterday to release the update. I'm playing catchup today.

Cheers,
Danny

Hey Danny, still dealing with unlinked probe issue.

So it's funny, because as soon as you updated Roastmaster, the probes were linked, and everything was great... for a day. Then my new laptop broke, so I had to return it for a new one.

Since receiving my new laptop (same model), I've ran into the same issue. I don't know what I did differently the first go round, but it's not working again. I have the latest Phidget software and latest Roastmaster update. What gives?

And now when I double click Phidget Temp Sensor 4 input, it gives me the following error log... which I didn't get before...

Saturday, July 20, 2013 12:30:23 AM: Input 2 reported an undefined temperature. Probably there is no thermocouple plugged in.
Saturday, July 20, 2013 12:30:23 AM: Thermocouple 2 reported a potential of 83.3803mV which is above the maximum of 77.4104mV.

Nevermind... crazy. I turned off the Phidget software, and now it's picking up the temp on my Roastmaster app via iPhone. I guess it can't pick up when the software is open? super strange... thanks Danny!

Yikes - sorry your laptop broke. I have nightmares about that!

Phidgets claim that only one device can be connected to them at any one time - i.e. when a device connects, it "locks" the Phidgets and prevents connections from any other source. That has not been MY personal experience (probably because I'm usually running in a development environment), but many users have told me their installation only allows 1 connection at a time, as you discovered -  and that the offending connection is usually the Phidgets preference pane itself, and that closing the software on the laptop does the trick.

Let me know if you have any other issues.

Cheers
