Support / Cupping term
« on: January 08, 2018, 05:47:21 PM »
Greetings, Danny, and Happy New Year All,
I have been roasting for many years and happily using RM for several years, but I have been negligent about cupping. So, I have started cupping my roasts in an attempt to rehabilitate myself. Most of the terms are self-explanatory, but what is Roast Complement? Google was not helpful. Cheers!

Support / Latest RM update
« on: April 12, 2017, 01:34:04 AM »
Danny, I like the clean look of the new version of RM. However, there are a couple of features of the old version that I miss.
While I am roasting, I usually have a reference curve for air flow on top, because I mostly use air flow to control the profile of my fluid bed roaster.
I  miss referring to the on-graph timer for Development/1st crack progress and the temp reading while in a mode other than my BT data curve.
Also, I no longer see my Drying End marker on the roasting graph, even though it is calculated in the roast data at the end of the roast.
Am I missing a setting that will allow these things? Does my question make sense?

Support / Toggle C and F

Hello, Danny,

I accidentally recorded a roast in Celcius when I meant to use Fahrenheit. Is it possible to convert a finished roast curve from Celcius to Fahrenheit (and vice versa) other than to change each node manually? I tried to do this by editing the curve, but it changes the temp as well as the scale. Example: 100C becomes 100F rather than 100C becomes 212F. Thanks.

Support / ICelcius loses connection
« on: June 18, 2014, 06:55:28 AM »
Hello Danny, and others with experience using Roastmaster with iCelcius,
I've been having a problem with iCelcius losing connection with Roastmaster between roasts. It was happening occasionally but seems to be happening more frequently. Tonight I had to reboot my ipad between each of 4 roasts to get iCelcius back. Does anyone have an idea what is going on and what I can do to prevent it?

Support / Grid lines
« on: April 03, 2014, 07:17:24 AM »
Danny, Is it possible to show grid lines in analyzer view? It would be helpful for me when reviewing a past roast to see visually where time & temp intersect. I have looked for that option in Roastmaster, but I am not seeing a way to do it.

Roasting / Thermocouples
« on: March 13, 2014, 02:31:40 AM »
This question is for those of you who are logging data and using either phidgets or bluetherm. Just curious: Which thermocouple(s) do you use and why? I have been using iCelcius, which works great and has its own dedicated non-TC probe; but I may eventually want to switch to a method that has wireless capability. There are several kinds of K type TC probes on the bluetherm site  -- and other places too, of course -- that look as if they would be suitable for roasting. So what do you use, or which do you think is best?

Is there a way to make a screen shot of a roast graph?

Support / Timestamp
« on: December 09, 2013, 01:48:23 AM »
I just used version 7 for the 1st time. I am entering temps manually, but the nodes are timestamped 20 seconds or so behind  the timer. For example, I enter a time stamp for 300 degrees F, at 4:10 by the timer, but it records the node at 3:50. Another example: I ended my most recent roast at 12:17 at 440F, but the curve shows the last node as 440F at 11:58. Is there something I am doing wrong? This never happened with the previous version, but the method of entering temps is slightly different, so maybe I'm missing something. Thanks in advance.

Support / OK, I'm lost

In "Roasts" I press the start button and the timer starts, but I cant see how to enter temps. It must be obvious to everyone else, but I get a flat graph no matter what I do.

Hi, Folks,

I've been home-roasting for about 12 years, but I just got an iPad recently and found Roastmaster. I've been using an Android app called Coffee Roaster for a year or so. It works pretty well, but RM seems much more comprehensive. Just finished entering roaster and inventory data and now looking forward to taking Roastmaster for a spin ... as soon as I have time to give it some attention. Still not sure I understand how to use it, but I figure I will learn as I go. Put me on the list of those who would like to see a video tutorial.
